FAQ

Ordering & Quotes

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No minimums! Whether you need just one t-shirt or hundreds, we’ve got you covered.

How do I get a quote?

You can request a quote by sharing your artwork, apparel type, quantity, sizes, garment colors, print placement, and deadline. The more details you provide upfront, the more accurate your quote will be. Just fil out our Request a Quote form and we’ll respond within 1 business day.

How do I place an order for custom t-shirts?

Complete our Request a Quote form and we’ll send a personalized quote and mockup if needed.

What’s your payment process?

Payment is typically required before production begins. Once your artwork, apparel details, quantity, and pricing are confirmed, we’ll provide the next steps for payment and production approval.

Artwork & File Setup

Can you help fix my artwork for me?

Yes, we can help with minor production-prep issues like low resolution, missing transparency, sizing concerns, or basic file setup problems. We do not design, redesign, recreate, or substantially alter artwork. If your file needs more than a minor fix, we’ll let you know before production begins so you can provide an updated print-ready file.

Do you offer design help?

We don’t offer full design services. However, we can help refine your existing design with minor edits like resizing, background removal, font issues and file prep to make sure your design is ready for print.

Should my background be transparent?

Yes, when possible. It helps avoid unwanted print areas.

Do you accept hand-drawn or sketched artwork?

No. We do not accept hand-drawn or sketched artwork for production. Artwork must be submitted as a clean, digital, print-ready file. If your idea starts as a sketch, it should be digitized and prepared for print before submitting.

What file types do you accept for artwork?

Upload the highest-quality version of your artwork available. Preferred files include vector files such as.pdf, .svg, .aior high-res files like.png, .psd at least (300 DPI). Files with transparent backgrounds are best when your design does not need a solid background.

What resolution should my file be?

We recommend artwork at 300 DPI at the final print size. Low-resolution files may look blurry, pixelated, or soft when printed.

What size should my artwork be?

Your artwork should be created at or near the final size you want printed. If you’re unsure about sizing or placement, submit your file and notes — we’ll review it before production.

Can I upload a screenshot?

Screenshots are not ideal for production because they are often low resolution. You may upload one as a reference, but we’ll likely need a higher-quality artwork file before printing.

Do you mirror artwork for me?

We handle production setup as needed, including print preparation. You should submit your artwork in the correct viewing direction unless specifically instructed otherwise. If something needs to be adjusted for production, we’ll review it before moving forward.

What happens if my file doesn’t meet the requirements?

We’ll let you know before production begins. If your file has issues with resolution, transparency, sizing, color, or readability, we’ll explain what needs to be corrected or recommend the best next step.

DTF Printing

What does DTF mean?

DTF stands for Direct-to-Film. Your artwork is printed onto a special transfer film, and heat-pressed onto apparel.

Is DTF good for detailed artwork?

Yes. DTF is a strong option for detailed logos, typography, full-color graphics, and artwork with fine visual elements, as long as the file is high quality and production-ready.

How does DTF feel on a shirt?

A well-applied DTF print has a smooth, slightly raised feel on the garment. The final feel can vary depending on the artwork size, ink coverage, garment type, and print placement.

Can DTF be used for small orders?

Yes. DTF is especially useful for small batches, flexible quantities, custom designs, event apparel, creator merch, and repeat orders.

What printing methods do you use?

We primarily use DTF printing for detailed, flexible custom apparel projects. Embroidery and screen printing services are part of our future expansion and not yet available.

Will the print fade or crack over time?

With proper care, our prints are designed to be highly durable and long-lasting. Following the care instructions (wash inside out, cold water, tumble dry low or hang dry) will significantly extend the life of your custom apparel.

Production Timeline

How long will it take to receive my order?

Production time depends on order size, artwork readiness, garment availability, and current production volume. Most orders move faster when artwork and order details are approved quickly. Standard turnaround is 7–14 business days after payment and artwork approval.

Do you ship outside the local area?

Yes, we ship anywhere in the U.S. via UPS, USPS, or FedEx.

Do you accept rushed orders?

Sometimes! Email us first at hello@unboundink.com with your deadline. If we can make it happen, we’ll quote accordingly with a rush fee if needed.

Apparel Options

What types of t-shirts do you offer?

We offer a variety of blank tees including cotton, blended, and ringspun styles from top brands like Gildan, Bella+Canvas, Next Level, and others. Options vary by color, fit, price, and availibility—just let us know what you need during the quote process.

Can I order different sizes and colors in one order?

Yes, you can mix and match sizes and shirt colors as long as the print design stays the same on all items for that order. Just include a clear size and color breakdown when requesting your quote or submitting your project.

Proofs, Samples & Reorders

Do you offer samples or proofs before mass production?

Yes, we provide digital proofs for all orders before production begins to ensure your design is accurate. For larger or more critical orders, physical samples can be arranged for an additional fee that can be credited toward your final order.

Can I reorder the same design later?

Yes. Reorders are easier once your artwork and production details are already reviewed. We recommend keeping your approved artwork, garment choices, sizing, and placement details consistent for the closest repeat result.

Care Instructions

How do I care for my printed t-shirt?

For long-lasting prints, wash inside-out with cold water, avoid bleach, and tumble dry on low or air dry. Do not iron directly on the print.

Shipping Returns & Issues

What is your return or exchange policy?

Because each order is custom-made, we do not accept returns or exchanges for buyer’s remorse, incorrect size selection, change of mind, or customer-approved details. We only review requests for damaged/defective items, incorrect orders caused by Unbound Ink, or missing items. Issues must be reported within 5 days of delivery with clear photos and order confirmation. Feel free to review our return / refund policy.

When will my order ship?

Orders typically require 7–14 business days for production after approval and payment. Shipping begins after production is complete and the order has been transferred to the carrier.

Does production time include shipping time?

No. Production time and shipping time are separate. Total timing includes production plus carrier transit time.

Do you ship outside the local area?

Yes. Orders can be shipped within the United States only. Shipping options, timelines, and costs depend on the destination, order size, and carrier availability.

Do you offer pickup?

No. Unbound Ink does not offer public pickup, walk-ins, customer drop-offs, or in-person consultations.

Do you ship internationally?

No. We do not currently ship to international addresses, U.S. territories, or APO/FPO/DPO addresses

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping cost depends on package size, order weight, destination, and shipping speed. We’ll provide shipping details before finalizing your order.

Do you ship to P.O. Boxes?

P.O. Box shipping may be limited depending on the carrier, package size, and order type. If a physical street address is required, we will contact you before shipment.

Can I choose expedited shipping?

Expedited shipping may be available, but it only affects carrier transit time after production is complete. It does not shorten production time unless rush production is approved separately in writing.

Will I receive tracking?

Yes. Tracking information is sent after your order ships. Tracking updates are controlled by the shipping carrier.

What if my package is marked delivered but missing?

First check with household members, neighbors, building management, mailrooms, or the carrier. If tracking confirms delivery to the address provided, Unbound Ink is not responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced packages after delivery, except as required by law.

What happens if my item arrives damaged or incorrect?

Contact us within 5 days of delivery with your order number, photos of the damaged item, packaging, shipping label, and a description of the issue.

What if I entered the wrong address?

Contact us immediately at hello@unboundink.com. Address changes are not guaranteed once an order enters production, packaging, label creation, or carrier transfer.
